Great local family owned restaurant. The food is good an although they are short staffed, the staff they have work very hard to make sure everyone has a great experience. I definitely recommend this place, the owners are extremely nice. In fact, the first time we tried to eat here, we were new in town and didn't know they closed at 8. We walked in right about 8 and they told us they were closed, but then one of the owners offered to lead us to another restaurant in town that would still be open. That sort of kindness is rare and it was definitely a contributing factor for us deciding to go back while they were open. I highly recommend the catfish! Literally some of the best I've ever had

We were surprised to find such a great restaurant in the small town of Clayton. My son said it was the best cheeseburger he has ever had and said he wants to go back on every visit to the area.
Our food was great. Cost is awesome. Our waitress was very nice. Place looked clean and inviting. Loved the home made banana bread they were selling.
Service was awesome. Food was great. To us it was a great atmosphere. We were greeted with friendly,smiling faces. We will definitely be back. I recommend this place for food,service when passing thru Clayton, OK. I wish I had taken photos ,but we were so hungry.
We love eating here. Except it's called Southern Lark now! New ownership has done lots of work to the dining room and ate always welcoming.
I have eaten here often and now I am the lead breakfast cook from 6-2.We serve breakfast all day, yeast rolls will all diners, ice cream cones, shakes & malts, & sundaes. We have a wonderful selection of homemade pies, cakes, cheesecakes, & banana bread. We have Catfish Friday & a buffet every Sunday. We open at 6:30 & close at nine. Closed on Monday.
This is now the 'The Southern Stark.' These are new owners, and they are great. The respect my family got as we were trying to pray over our food while the new owner was going around and checking on customers was greatly appreciated. I enjoyed meeting and getting to know them, as my husband and I stop in all the time there to eat on our way to and from Texas. The food is great. 'A must try is the Hot Roast Beef dinner.'
